The JWT aud (Audience) Claim

According to RFC 7519:

The "aud" (audience) claim identifies the recipients that the JWT is intended for. Each principal intended to process the JWT MUST identify itself with a value in the audience claim. If the principal processing the claim does not identify itself with a value in the "aud" claim when this claim is present, then the JWT MUST be rejected. In the general case, the "aud" value is an array of case- sensitive strings, each containing a StringOrURI value. In the special case when the JWT has one audience, the "aud" value MAY be a single case-sensitive string containing a StringOrURI value. The interpretation of audience values is generally application specific. Use of this claim is OPTIONAL.

The Audience (aud) claim as defined by the spec is generic, and is application specific. The intended use is to identify intended recipients of the token. What a recipient means is application specific. An audience value is either a list of strings, or it can be a single string if there is only one aud claim. The creator of the token does not enforce that aud is validated correctly, the responsibility is the recipient's to determine whether the token should be used.

Whatever the value is, when a recipient is validating the JWT and it wishes to validate that the token was intended to be used for its purposes, it MUST determine what value in aud identifies itself, and the token should only validate if the recipient's declared ID is present in the aud claim. It does not matter if this is a URL or some other application specific string. For example, if my system decides to identify itself in aud with the string: api3.app.com, then it should only accept the JWT if the aud claim contains api3.app.com in its list of audience values.

Of course, recipients may choose to disregard aud, so this is only useful if a recipient would like positive validation that the token was created for it specifically.

My interpretation based on the specification is that the aud claim is useful to create purpose-built JWTs that are only valid for certain purposes. For one system, this may mean you would like a token to be valid for some features but not for others. You could issue tokens that are restricted to only a certain "audience", while still using the same keys and validation algorithm.

Since in the typical case a JWT is generated by a trusted service, and used by other trusted systems (systems which do not want to use invalid tokens), these systems simply need to coordinate the values they will be using.

Of course, aud is completely optional and can be ignored if your use case doesn't warrant it. If you don't want to restrict tokens to being used by specific audiences, or none of your systems actually will validate the aud token, then it is useless.

Example: Access vs. Refresh Tokens

One contrived (yet simple) example I can think of is perhaps we want to use JWTs for access and refresh tokens without having to implement separate encryption keys and algorithms, but simply want to ensure that access tokens will not validate as refresh tokens, or vice-versa.

By using aud, we can specify a claim of refresh for refresh tokens and a claim of access for access tokens upon creating these tokens. When a request is made to get a new access token from a refresh token, we need to validate that the refresh token was a genuine refresh token. The aud validation as described above will tell us whether the token was actually a valid refresh token by looking specifically for a claim of refresh in aud.

OAuth Client ID vs. JWT aud Claim

The OAuth Client ID is completely unrelated, and has no direct correlation to JWT aud claims. From the perspective of OAuth, the tokens are opaque objects.

The application which accepts these tokens is responsible for parsing and validating the meaning of these tokens. I don't see much value in specifying OAuth Client ID within a JWT aud claim.

I had the same problem with PyInstaller and Py2exe so I came across the resolution on the FAQ from cx-freeze.

When using your script from the console or as an application, the functions hereunder will deliver you the "execution path", not the "actual file path":

It's been a significant percentage of our business migrating people from Heroku to AWS. There are advantages to both, but it's gets messy on Heroku after a while... once you need a certain level of complexity no longer easy to maintain with Heroku's limitations.

That said, there are increasingly options to have the ease of Heroku and the flexibility of AWS by being on AWS with great frameworks/tools.

Like Eric, I used homebrew, but I used the default recipe. So:

If you plan to build a full functional applications with more than a handful of features, I will suggest to jump right to using Eclipse RCP as the framework.

If your application won't grow too big or your requirements are just too unique to be handled by a normal business framework, you can safely jump with Swing.

At the end of the day, I'd suggest you to try both technologies to find the one suit you better. Like Netbeans vs Eclipse vs IntelliJ, there is no the absolute correct answer here and both frameworks have their own drawbacks.

Yes, you could append ;Connection Timeout=30 to your connection string and specify the value you wish.

The timeout value set in the Connection Timeout property is a time expressed in seconds. If this property isn't set, the timeout value for the connection is the default value (15 seconds).

Moreover, setting the timeout value to 0, you are specifying that your attempt to connect waits an infinite time. As described in the documentation, this is something that you shouldn't set in your connection string:

A value of 0 indicates no limit, and should be avoided in a ConnectionString because an attempt to connect waits indefinitely.

gmail uses an encrypted connection. So, even after you establish a connection, you wont be able to send any email. The encryption is a little complex to manage. Try using openssl instead.

I think what you want is to swap out at runtime a version of your config file, if so create a copy of your config file (also give it the relevant extension like .Debug or .Release) that has the correct addresses (which gives you a debug version and a runtime version ) and create a postbuild step that copies the correct file depending on the build type.

Here is an example of a postbuild event that I've used in the past which overrides the output file with the correct version (debug/runtime)

All the previous answers are good to me. But a straight forward answer on my side would come from https://github.com/kubernetes/dashboard/wiki/Creating-sample-user#bearer-token. Just use kubectl -n kube-system describe secret $(kubectl -n kube-system get secret | grep admin-user | awk '{print $1}'). You will have many values for some keys (Name, Namespace, Labels, ..., token). The most important is the token that corresponds to your name. copy that token and paste it in the token box. Hope this helps.

Well the code that you are using is explicitly designed to accept the certificate without doing any checks whatsoever. This is not good practice ... but if that is what you want to do, then (obviously) there is no need to install a certificate that your code is explicitly ignoring.

No, and no. See above.

Is the traffic between the client to the remote site still encrypted in transmission?

Yes it is. However, the problem is that since you have told it to trust the server's certificate without doing any checks, you don't know if you are talking to the real server, or to some other site that is pretending to be the real server. Whether this is a problem depends on the circumstances.

If we used the browser as an example, typically a browser doesn't ask the user to explicitly install a certificate for each ssl site visited.

The browser has a set of trusted root certificates pre-installed. Most times, when you visit an "https" site, the browser can verify that the site's certificate is (ultimately, via the certificate chain) secured by one of those trusted certs. If the browser doesn't recognize the cert at the start of the chain as being a trusted cert (or if the certificates are out of date or otherwise invalid / inappropriate), then it will display a warning.

Java works the same way. The JVM's keystore has a set of trusted certificates, and the same process is used to check the certificate is secured by a trusted certificate.

Does the java https client api support some type of mechanism to download certificate information automatically?

No. Allowing applications to download certificates from random places, and install them (as trusted) in the system keystore would be a security hole.

Setters and getters are used to replace directly accessing member variables from external classes. if you use a setter and getter in accessing a property, you can include initialization, error checking, complex transformations, etc. Some examples:

all multy key's probably fail, cause the put([key1, key2], val) and the get([null, key2]) end up using the equals of [key1, key2] and [null, key2]. If the backing map doesnt contains hash buckets per key then lookups are real slow to.

i think the way to go is using a index decorator (see the key1, key2 examples above) and if the extra index key's are properties of the stored value you can use the property name's and reflection to build the secondairy maps when you put(key, val) and add an extra method get(propertyname, propertyvalue) to use that index.

It's all about context, and also who is responsible for handling duplicates in requests (server or client or both)

If server just point the duplicate, look at 4xx:

• 400 Bad Request - when the server will not process a request because it's obvious client fault
• 409 Conflict - if the server will not process a request, but the reason for that is not the client's fault
• ...

For implicit handling of duplicates, look at 2XX:

• 200 OK
• 201 Created
• ...

if the server is expected to return something, look at 3XX:

• 302 Found

when the server is able to point the existing resource, it implies a redirection.

If the above is not enough, it's always a good practice to prepare some error message in the body of the response.

There's a fairly simple and (IMO) elegant approach, at least for durations of less than 24 hours:

DateTimeFormatter.ISO_LOCAL_TIME.format(value.addTo(LocalTime.of(0, 0)))

Formatters need a temporal object to format, so you can create one by adding the duration to a LocalTime of 00:00 (i.e. midnight). This will give you a LocalTime representing the duration from midnight to that time, which is then easy to format in standard HH:mm:ss notation. This has the advantage of not needing an external library, and uses the java.time library to do the calculation, rather than manually calculating the hours, minutes and seconds.

The above suggestions are pretty good, but I think most people just want a ready made solution, with no dependencies on external packages, but is also reusable.

I got the best points of all the above, and made it into a function, along with a test cases.

To use it, just copy the lines under "def update_progress(progress)" but not the test script. Don't forget to import sys. Call this whenever you need to display or update the progress bar.

This works by directly sending the "\r" symbol to console to move cursor back to the start. "print" in python does not recongise the above symbol for this purpose, hence we need 'sys'

You need to understand the difference between Web application context and root application context .

In the web MVC framework, each DispatcherServlet has its own WebApplicationContext, which inherits all the beans already defined in the root WebApplicationContext. These inherited beans defined can be overridden in the servlet-specific scope, and new scope-specific beans can be defined local to a given servlet instance.

The dispatcher servlet's application context is a web application context which is only applicable for the Web classes . You cannot use these for your middle tier layers . These need a global app context using ContextLoaderListener .

I suspect that what's happened may be that you've deleted the files that you modified (because you didn't care about those changes) and now git is taking the deletion to be a change.

Here is an approach that moves your changes out of your working copy and into the "stash" (retrievable should it actually turn out that you ever need them again), so you can then pull the latest changes down from the upstream.

git stash  
git pull

If you ever want to retrieve your files (potential conflicts with upstream changes and all), run a git stash apply to stick those changes on top of your code. That way, you have an "undo" approach.

This question was bugging me - it's a common enough problem that a good solution should already exist, something better than the vector of vectors or rolling your own array indexing.

When something ought to exist in C++ but doesn't, the first place to look is boost.org. There I found the Boost Multidimensional Array Library, multi_array. It even includes a multi_array_ref class that can be used to wrap your own one-dimensional array buffer.

Within your <jre location>\lib\security\java.policy try adding:

grant { permission java.security.AllPermission; };

And see if it allows you. If so, you will have to add more granular permissions.

If we consider common scenarios where this exception can be thrown, accessing properties withing object at the top.

Ex:

The error means that the string you're trying to parse an integer from doesn't actually contain a valid integer.

It's extremely unlikely that the text boxes will contain a valid integer immediately when the form is created - which is where you're getting the integer values. It would make much more sense to update a and b in the button click events (in the same way that you are in the constructor). Also, check out the Int.TryParse method - it's much easier to use if the string might not actually contain an integer - it doesn't throw an exception so it's easier to recover from.

If you get an error message like

An unhandled exception of type 'System.NullReferenceException' occurred in System.Windows.Forms.dll

if you work with SortableBindingList, your code probably uses some loops over DataGridView rows and also try to access the empty last row! (BindingSource = null)

If you don't need to allow the user to add new rows directly in the DataGridView this line of code easily solve the issue:

tl;dr:

concat and append currently sort the non-concatenation index (e.g. columns if you're adding rows) if the columns don't match. In pandas 0.23 this started generating a warning; pass the parameter sort=True to silence it. In the future the default will change to not sort, so it's best to specify either sort=True or False now, or better yet ensure that your non-concatenation indices match.

The warning is new in pandas 0.23.0:

In a future version of pandas pandas.concat() and DataFrame.append() will no longer sort the non-concatenation axis when it is not already aligned. The current behavior is the same as the previous (sorting), but now a warning is issued when sort is not specified and the non-concatenation axis is not aligned, link.

More information from linked very old github issue, comment by smcinerney :

When concat'ing DataFrames, the column names get alphanumerically sorted if there are any differences between them. If they're identical across DataFrames, they don't get sorted.

This sort is undocumented and unwanted. Certainly the default behavior should be no-sort.

After some time the parameter sort was implemented in pandas.concat and DataFrame.append:

sort : boolean, default None

Sort non-concatenation axis if it is not already aligned when join is 'outer'. The current default of sorting is deprecated and will change to not-sorting in a future version of pandas.

Explicitly pass sort=True to silence the warning and sort. Explicitly pass sort=False to silence the warning and not sort.

This has no effect when join='inner', which already preserves the order of the non-concatenation axis.

So if both DataFrames have the same columns in the same order, there is no warning and no sorting:

If the DataFrames have different columns, but the first columns are aligned - they will be correctly assigned to each other (columns a and b from df1 with a and b from df2 in the example below) because they exist in both. For other columns that exist in one but not both DataFrames, missing values are created.

Lastly, if you pass sort=True, columns are sorted alphanumerically. If sort=False and the second DafaFrame has columns that are not in the first, they are appended to the end with no sorting:

I have faced this issue so many times and I was surprised that many of these don't work.

Error message => ORA-00001: unique constraint (schema.unique_constraint_name) violated

ORA-00001 occurs when: "a query tries to insert a "duplicate" row in a table". It makes an unique constraint to fail, consequently query fails and row is NOT added to the table."

Solution:

Find all columns used in unique_constraint, for instance column a, column b, column c, column d collectively creates unique_constraint and then find the record from source data which is duplicate, using following queries:

another thing: returning a tile and not a tile reference is not a good idea, unless a tile is a primitive or very "small" type.

In most cases the solution of CD.. will work perfectly fine. However I had a bit more twisted situation:

This would print me " " in my page, respectively generate the source  . Now there is a function Html.Raw(" ") which is supposed to let you write source code, except in this constellation it throws a compiler error:

So I ended up writing a statement like the following, which is less nice but works even in my case:

In Android 5, check your settings -> apps. Instead of deleting for just the active user (since android 5 can have multiple users and my phone had a guest user) tap on the accessory button in the top right corner of the action/toolbar and choose "uninstall for all users". It appears that in Android 5 when you just uninstall from launcher you only uninstall the app for the active user.

The app is still on the device.. This had me dazzled to since I was trying to install a release version, didn't work so I thought ow right must be because I still have the debug version installed, uninstalled the app. But than still couldn't install.. First clue was a record in the app list of the uninstalled app with the message next to it that it was uninstalled (image).

So this question has been answered but to me the code used is not simple enough or complete. To me this bit here is what I was looking for and possibly some other people will like this as well.

The output is stored in Temp and not needed afterwards, datestring is the input string to be tested.

An alternate way is to construct a view which is then queried just like a table. In many database managers using a view can result in better performance.

You can activate JVM's debugging capability when starting up the java command with a special option:

Starting up jar.jar like that on the command line will:

• put this JVM instance in the role of a server (server=y) listening on port 8000 (address=8000)

• then pause the application (suspend=y) until some debugger connects. The debugger acts as the client in this scenario.

Common options for selecting a debugger are:

• Eclipse Debugger: Under Run -> Debug Configurations... -> select Remote Java Application -> click the New launch configuration button. Besides below answer, if you have this error in console ([$injector:nomod], MINERR_ASSET:22), but everything seems to work fine, make sure that you don't have duplicate includes in your index.html.

Because this error can also be raised if you have duplicate includes of the files, that use this module, and are included before the file with actual module declaration.

Frank's example confused me a bit - it didn't work in my case because I didn't understand positioning well enough yet. It's important to note that the parent container element needs to have a non-static position (he mentioned this but I overlooked it, and it wasn't in his example).

Here's an example where the child - given padding and a border - uses absolute positioning to fill the parent 100%. The parent uses relative positioning in order to provide a point of reference for the child's position while remaining in the normal flow - the next element "more-content" is not affected:

Please note that if you write background instead of 'background-image' in [ngStyle], the styles you write (even in style of element) for other background properties like background-position/size, etc. won't work. Because you will already fix it's properties with background: 'url(+ property +) (no providers for size, position, etc. !)'. The [ngStyle] priority is higher than style of element. In background here, only url() property will work. Be sure to use 'background-image' instead of 'background'in case you want to write more properties to background image.

I found a solution to my problem (thanks to the help of ImportanceOfBeingErnest).

All I had to do was to install tkinter through the Linux bash terminal using the following command:

sudo apt-get install python3-tk

In practice, the difference is in the location where the preprocessor searches for the included file.

I really do not see any way to really get to the number of values in an enumeration in C++. When a module is loaded from a file in Python, __file__ is set to its path. You can then use that with other functions to find the directory that the file is located in.

I just want to address some confusion first. __file__ is not a wildcard it is an attribute. Double underscore attributes and methods are considered to be "special" by convention and serve a special purpose.

In this case __file__ is an attribute of a module (a module object). In Python a .py file is a module. So import amodule will have an attribute of __file__ which means different things under difference circumstances.

Almost every time I start a new project I Google this same question to see if I come up with any new answers.

It eventually boils down to - I take the latest version of MySQL and run tests.

I have tables where I want to do key/value lookups... and that's all. I need to get the value (0-512 bytes) for a hash key. There is not a lot of transactions on this DB. The table gets updates occasionally (in it's entirety), but 0 transactions.

So we're not talking about a complex system here, we are talking about a simple lookup,.. and how (other than making the table RAM resident) we can optimize performance.

I also do tests on other databases (ie NoSQL) to see if there is anywhere I can get an advantage. The biggest advantage I have found is in key mapping but as far as the lookup goes, MyISAM is currently topping them all.

Albeit, I wouldn't perform financial transactions with MyISAM tables but for simple lookups, you should test it out.. typically 2x to 5x the queries/sec.

Test it, I welcome debate.

Yes, there are several ways to do it. For instance, you can convert the list to a string and then remove the first and last characters:

• You can't slice a generator directly in Python. itertools.islice() will wrap an object in a new slicing generator using the syntax itertools.islice(generator, start, stop, step)

CreateOrReplaceTempView will create a temporary view of the table on memory it is not presistant at this moment but you can run sql query on top of that . if you want to save it you can either persist or use saveAsTable to save.

In addition to the above you can use the System.exit() to return an exit code which may be very usuefull specially if your calling the process automatically using the System.exit(code); this can help you determine for example if an error has occured during the run.

Scott Mitchell provides in a blog post solutions for removing unnecessary headers.

As already said here in other answers, for the Server header, there is the http module solution, or a web.config solution for IIS 10+, or you can use URLRewrite instead for blanking it.

The most practical solution for an up-to-date (IIS 10 +) setup is using removeServerHeader in the web.config:

Beware, if you have ARR (Application Request Routing), it will also add its own X-Powered-By, which will not be removed by custom headers settings. This one has to be removed through the IIS Manager, Editor configuration on the IIS root (not on a site): go to system.webServer/proxy node and set arrResponseHeader to false. After an IISReset, it is taken into account.
(I have found this one here, excepted this post is about old IIS 6.0 way of configuring things.)

Do not forget that solution by application code does not apply by default to header generated on static content (you may activate the runAllManagedModulesForAllRequests for changing that, but it causes all requests to run .Net pipeline). It is not an issue for X-AspNetMvc-Version since it is not added on static content (at least if static request are not run in .Net pipeline).

Side note: when the aim is to cloak used technology, you should also change standard .Net cookie names (.ASPXAUTH if forms auth activated (use name attribute on forms tag in web.config), ASP.NET_SessionId (use <sessionState cookieName="yourName" /> in web.config under system.web tag), __RequestVerificationToken (change it by code with AntiForgeryConfig.CookieName, but unfortunately does not apply to the hidden input this system generates in the html)).

What it is telling you is - the 2nd guard let or the if let check is not happening on an Optional Int or Optional String. You already have a non-optional value, so guarding or if-letting is not needed anymore

I'm going to put this in here more for completeness than direct relevance to the OP. I spent nearly a day debugging an HttpClient request, wondering why I was never getting back a response.

Finally found that I had forgotten to await the async call further down the call stack.

Feels about as good as missing a semicolon.

Here's another solution. This uses:

• a coarse global regular expression for splitting the CSV string (which includes surrounding quotes and trailing commas)
• fine-grained regular expression for cleaning up the surrounding quotes and trailing commas
• also, has type correction differentiating strings, numbers and boolean values

A good hash function has the following properties:

1. Given a hash of a message it is computationally infeasible for an attacker to find another message such that their hashes are identical.

2. Given a pair of message, m' and m, it is computationally infeasible to find two such that that h(m) = h(m')

The two cases are not the same. In the first case, there is a pre-existing hash that you're trying to find a collision for. In the second case, you're trying to find any two messages that collide. The second task is significantly easier due to the birthday "paradox."

Where performance is not that great an issue, you should always use a secure hash function. There are very clever attacks that can be performed by forcing collisions in a hash. If you use something strong from the outset, you'll secure yourself against these.

Don't use MD5 or SHA-1 in new designs. Most cryptographers, me included, would consider them broken. The principle source of weakness in both of these designs is that the second property, which I outlined above, does not hold for these constructions. If an attacker can generate two messages, m and m', that both hash to the same value they can use these messages against you. SHA-1 and MD5 also suffer from message extension attacks, which can fatally weaken your application if you're not careful.

A more modern hash such as Whirpool is a better choice. It does not suffer from these message extension attacks and uses the same mathematics as AES uses to prove security against a variety of attacks.
