You need to set left: 0 and right: 0.

This specifies how far to offset the margin edges from the sides of the window.

Like 'top', but specifies how far a box's right margin edge is offset to the [left/right] of the [right/left] edge of the box's containing block.

Try this. I set the blue box to float right, gave left and right a fixed height, and added a white border on the right of the left div. Also added rounded corners to more match your example (These won't work in ie 8 or less). I also took out the position: relative. You don't need it. Block level elements are set to position relative by default.

This is a late answer, but by looking at the source code, I noticed that when the video is fullscreen, the "mejs-container-fullscreen" class is added to the "mejs-container" element. It is thus possible to change the styling based on this class.

You can center absolute items by providing the left property with the width of the device divided by two and subtracting out half of the element you'd like to center's width.

To implement this the way you have started, you'll need to add an AnimationListener so that you can detect the beginning and ending of an animation. When onAnimationEnd() for the fade out is called, you can set the visibility of your ImageView object to View.INVISIBLE, switch the images and start your fade in animation - you'll need another AnimationListener here too. When you receive onAnimationEnd() for your fade in animation, set the ImageView to be View.VISIBLE and that should give you the effect you're looking for.

I've implemented a similar effect before, but I used a ViewSwitcher with 2 ImageViews rather than a single ImageView. You can set the "in" and "out" animations for the ViewSwitcher with your fade in and fade out so it can manage the AnimationListener implementation. Then all you need to do is alternate between the 2 ImageViews.

"\n" is just a line feed (Unicode U+000A). This is typically the Unix line separator.

"\r\n" is a carriage return (Unicode U+000D) followed by a line feed (Unicode U+000A). This is typically the Windows line separator.

Place the \n in double quotes:

In single quotes, if I'm not mistaken, this is treated as \ and n separately.

While you can make dynamically-created RegExp's (as per the other responses to this question), I'll echo my comment from a similar post: The functional form of String.replace() is extremely useful and in many cases reduces the need for dynamically-created RegExp objects. (which are kind of a pain 'cause you have to express the input to the RegExp constructor as a string rather than use the slashes /[A-Z]+/ regexp literal format)

This one is tricky, to be honest. There are many simple ways to do this nevertheless. Using math.ceil(), round(), and math.floor(), you can get a integer by using for example:

n = int(round(n))

If before we used this function n = 5.23, we would get returned 5. If you wanted to round to different place values, you could use this function:

In my test suite, I group my test cases into classes. For the setup and teardown I need for all the test cases in that class, I use the setup_class(cls) and teardown_class(cls) classmethods.

And for the setup and teardown I need for each of the test case, I use the setup_method(method) and teardown_method(methods)

This can be caused by running a 64bit .NET runtime against a 32bit Oracle client. This can happen if your server you are running the app on it 64 bit. It will run the .NET app with the 64bit runtime. You can set the CPU flag on your project in VS to run in the 32bit runtime.

You can include file information or field information within each section between boundaries. I've successfully implemented a RESTful service that required the user to submit both data and a form, and multipart/form-data worked perfectly. The service was built using Java/Spring, and the client was using C#, so unfortunately I don't have any Grails examples to give you concerning how to set up the service. You don't need to use JSON in this case since each "form-data" section provides you a place to specify the name of the parameter and its value.

The good thing about using multipart/form-data is that you're using HTTP-defined headers, so you're sticking with the REST philosophy of using existing HTTP tools to create your service.

If you are returning ActionResult in .net core web api, or IHttpAction result then you can just wrap up your model in an Ok() method which will match the case on your front end and serialise it for you. No need to use JsonConvert. :)

If you have a float that you want to ignore the decimal part, then you can use str(int(floatValue)).

Whether a string can be parsed as a number is a runtime concern. Typescript does not support this use case as it is focused on compile time (not runtime) safety.

One more thing I found is that some websites uses a platform that checks the User Agent. If the value contains: "HeadlessChrome" the behavior can be weird when using headless mode.

The workaround for that will be to override the user agent value, for example in Java:

Step1

convert the column to datetime :

Font-Awesome uses different class names in the new version, probably because this makes the CSS files drastically smaller, and to avoid ambiguous css classes. So now you should use:

Just to add to how to use map files. I use chrome for ubuntu and if I go to sources and click on a file, if there is a map file a message comes up telling me that I can view the original file and how to do it.

For the Angular files that I worked with today I click

Ctrl-P and a list of original files comes up in a small window.

I can then browse through the list to view the file that I would like to inspect and check where the issue might be.

Difference Between Static and Volatile :

Static Variable: If two Threads(suppose t1 and t2) are accessing the same object and updating a variable which is declared as static then it means t1 and t2 can make their own local copy of the same object(including static variables) in their respective cache, so update made by t1 to the static variable in its local cache wont reflect in the static variable for t2 cache .

Static variables are used in the context of Object where update made by one object would reflect in all the other objects of the same class but not in the context of Thread where update of one thread to the static variable will reflect the changes immediately to all the threads (in their local cache).

Volatile variable: If two Threads(suppose t1 and t2) are accessing the same object and updating a variable which is declared as volatile then it means t1 and t2 can make their own local cache of the Object except the variable which is declared as a volatile . So the volatile variable will have only one main copy which will be updated by different threads and update made by one thread to the volatile variable will immediately reflect to the other Thread.

Another thing you could do is to create a session variable that gets set in the code behind and then check the state of that variable and then run your javascript. The good thing is this will allow you to run your script right where you want to instead of having to figure out if you want it to run in the DOM or globally.

For anybody coming here looking for a getTickCount() implementation for iOS, here is mine after putting various sources together.

Previously I had a bug in this code (I divided by 1000000 first) which was causing some quantisation of the output on my iPhone 6 (perhaps this was not an issue on iPhone 4/etc or I just never noticed it). Note that by not performing that division first, there is some risk of overflow if the numerator of the timebase is quite large. In light of that information, maybe it is safer to use Apple's function CACurrentMediaTime!

I also benchmarked the mach_timebase_info call and it takes approximately 19ns on my iPhone 6, so I removed the (not threadsafe) code which was caching the output of that call.

Do be aware of the potential risk of overflow depending on the output of the timebase call. I suspect (but do not know) that it might be a constant for each model of iPhone. on my iPhone 6 it was 125/3.

The solution using CACurrentMediaTime() is quite trivial:

I have a simpler method that works for me. Basically, remember what the hash actually is in HTML. It's an anchor link to a Name tag. That's why it scrolls...the browser is attempting to scroll to an anchor link. So, give it one!

1. Right under the BODY tag, put your version of this:

 <a name="home"></a><a name="firstsection"></a><a name="secondsection"></a><a name="thirdsection"></a>

2. Name your section divs with classes instead of IDs.

3. In your processing code, strip off the hash mark and replace with a dot:

Finally, remove element.preventDefault or return: false and allow the nav to happen. The window will stay at the top, the hash will be appended to the address bar url, and the correct panel will open.

The following worked for me on Excel for Mac 2011 and Windows Excel 2002:

1. Using iconv on Mac, convert the file to UTF-16 Little-Endian + name it *.txt (the .txt extension forces Excel to run the Text Import Wizard):

   iconv -f UTF-8 -t UTF-16LE filename.csv >filename_UTF-16LE.csv.txt

2. Open the file in Excel and in the Text Import Wizard choose:

   • Step 1: File origin: ignore it, it doesn't matter what you choose
   • Step 2: select proper values for Delimiters and Text qualifier
   • Step 3: if necessary, select column formats

PS The UTF-16LE created by iconv has BOM bytes FF FE in the beginning.

PPS My original csv file was created on a Windows 7 computer, in UTF-8 format (with the BOM bytes EF BB BF in the beginning) and used CRLF line breaks. Comma was used as field delimiter and single quote as text qualifier. It contained ASCII letters plus different latin letters with tildes, umlaut etc, plus some cyrillic. All displayed properly in both Excel for Win and Mac.

Renames all .pdf files based on current system date. For example a file named Gross Profit.pdf is renamed to Gross Profit 2014-07-31.pdf. If you run it tomorrow, it will rename it to Gross Profit 2014-08-01.pdf.

You could replace the ? with the report name Gross Profit, but it will only rename the one report. The ? renames everything in the Conduit folder. The reason there are so many ?, is that some .pdfs have long names. If you just put 12 ?s, then any name longer than 12 characters will be clipped off at the 13th character. Try it with 1 ?, then try it with many ?s. The ? length should be a little longer or as long as the longest report name.

Worked out my problem the original perl.m points to a Perl installation in the MATLAB folder by updating PATH then calling Perl. The function above points to my Python install. When I called my function.py file, it was in a different directory and called other files in that directory. These where not reflected in the PATH, and I had to easy_install my Python files into my Python distribution.

In SQL Server 2012 and higher, this will format a number with commas:

If the data is a static or global variable, it is zero-filled by default, so just declare it myStruct _m;

If the data is a local variable or a heap-allocated zone, clear it with memset like:

memset(&m, 0, sizeof(myStruct));

Current compilers (e.g. recent versions of gcc) optimize that quite well in practice. This works only if all zero values (include null pointers and floating point zero) are represented as all zero bits, which is true on all platforms I know about (but the C standard permits implementations where this is false; I know no such implementation).

You could perhaps code myStruct m = {}; or myStruct m = {0}; (even if the first member of myStruct is not a scalar).

My feeling is that using memset for local structures is the best, and it conveys better the fact that at runtime, something has to be done (while usually, global and static data can be understood as initialized at compile time, without any cost at runtime).

I got this error when deploying a war file to Tomcat. My project required Java 1.8, and it turned out only Java 1.7 was installed. It wasn't immediately obvious from any log file that I could find.

You should include a path to your command, since cron runs with an extensively cut-down environment. You won't have all the environment variables you have in your interactive shell session.

It's a good idea to specify an absolute path to your script/binary, or define PATH in the crontab itself. To help debug any issues I would also redirect stdout/err to a log file.

The way Facebook does this is pretty interesting.

A common method of doing such notifications is to poll a script on the server (using AJAX) on a given interval (perhaps every few seconds), to check if something has happened. However, this can be pretty network intensive, and you often make pointless requests, because nothing has happened.

The way Facebook does it is using the comet approach, rather than polling on an interval, as soon as one poll completes, it issues another one. However, each request to the script on the server has an extremely long timeout, and the server only responds to the request once something has happened. You can see this happening if you bring up Firebug's Console tab while on Facebook, with requests to a script possibly taking minutes. It is quite ingenious really, since this method cuts down immediately on both the number of requests, and how often you have to send them. You effectively now have an event framework that allows the server to 'fire' events.

Behind this, in terms of the actual content returned from those polls, it's a JSON response, with what appears to be a list of events, and info about them. It's minified though, so is a bit hard to read.

In terms of the actual technology, AJAX is the way to go here, because you can control request timeouts, and many other things. I'd recommend (Stack overflow cliche here) using jQuery to do the AJAX, it'll take a lot of the cross-compability problems away. In terms of PHP, you could simply poll an event log database table in your PHP script, and only return to the client when something happens? There are, I expect, many ways of implementing this.

There appear to be a few implementations of comet libraries in PHP, but to be honest, it really is very simple, something perhaps like the following pseudocode:

Your issue here is that you've supplied a -webkit-TRANSITION-timing-function when you want a -webkit-ANIMATION-timing-function. Your values of 0 to 360 will work properly.

When using an EF model, I have a connection string in each project that consumes the EF model. For example, I have an EF EDMX model in a separate class library. I have one connection string in my web (mvc) project so that it can access the EF db.

I also have another unit test project for testing the repositories. In order for the repositories to access the EF db, the test project's app.config file has the same connection string.

DB connections should be configured, not coded, IMO.

The answers only cover DOM / SAX and a copy paste implementation of a JAXB example.

However, one big area of when you are using XML is missing. In many projects / programs there is a need to store / retrieve some basic data structures. Your program has already a classes for your nice and shiny business objects / data structures, you just want a comfortable way to convert this data to a XML structure so you can do more magic on it (store, load, send, manipulate with XSLT).

This is where XStream shines. You simply annotate the classes holding your data, or if you do not want to change those classes, you configure a XStream instance for marshalling (objects -> xml) or unmarshalling (xml -> objects).

Internally XStream uses reflection, the readObject and readResolve methods of standard Java object serialization.

To give a short overview of how it works, I also provide some sample code which marshalls and unmarshalls a data structure. The marshalling / unmarshalling happens all in the main method, the rest is just code to generate some test objects and populate some data to them. The easiest way to resize a marker seems to be leaving argument 2, 3, and 4 null and scaling the size in argument 5.

As an aside, this answer to a similar question asserts that defining marker size in the 2nd argument is better than scaling in the 5th argument. I don't know if this is true.

Leaving arguments 2-4 null works great for the default google pin image, but you must set an anchor explicitly for the default google pin shadow image, or it will look like this:

The bottom center of the pin image happens to be collocated with the tip of the pin when you view the graphic on the map. This is important, because the marker's position property (marker's LatLng position on the map) will automatically be collocated with the visual tip of the pin when you leave the anchor (4th argument) null. In other words, leaving the anchor null ensures the tip points where it is supposed to point.

However, the tip of the shadow is not located at the bottom center. So you need to set the 4th argument explicitly to offset the tip of the pin shadow so the shadow's tip will be colocated with the pin image's tip.

By experimenting I found the tip of the shadow should be set like this: x is 1/3 of size and y is 100% of size.

I've found the best implementation. It's in the Google I/O 2014 app.

They use the same approach as Kevin's. If you can abstract yourself from all unneeded stuff in I/O app, you could extract everything you need and it is assured by Google that it's a correct usage of navigation drawer pattern. Each activity optionally has a DrawerLayout as its main layout. The interesting part is how the navigation to other screens is done. It is implemented in BaseActivity like this:

It is not possible to use the VOLUME instruction to tell docker what to mount. That would seriously break portability. This instruction tells docker that content in those directories does not go in images and can be accessed from other containers using the --volumes-from command line parameter. You have to run the container using -v /path/on/host:/path/in/container to access directories from the host.

Mounting host volumes during build is not possible. There is no privileged build and mounting the host would also seriously degrade portability. You might want to try using wget or curl to download whatever you need for the build and put it in place.

You could also look at how Python writes Excel-compatible csv files.

I believe the default for Excel is to double-up for literal quote characters - that is, literal quotes " are written as "".

I am talking here from a theoretical point of view; I have not tried BitLocker.

BitLocker uses AES encryption with a 128-bit key. On a Core2 machine, clocked at 2.53 GHz, encryption speed should be about 110 MB/s, using one core. The two cores could process about 220 MB/s, assuming perfect data transfer and core synchronization with no overhead, and that nothing requires the CPU in the same time (that one hell of an assumption, actually). The X25-M G2 is announced at 250 MB/s read bandwidth (that's what the specs say), so, in "ideal" conditions, BitLocker necessarily involves a bit of a slowdown.

However read bandwidth is not that important. It matters when you copy huge files, which is not something that you do very often. In everyday work, access time is much more important: as a developer, you create, write, read and delete many files, but they are all small (most of them are much smaller than one megabyte). This is what makes SSD "snappy". Encryption does not impact access time. So my guess is that any performance degradation will be negligible(*).

(*) Here I assume that Microsoft's developers did their job properly.

1. The class Date/Timestamp represents a specific instant in time, with millisecond precision, since January 1, 1970, 00:00:00 GMT. So this time difference (from epoch to current time) will be same in all computers across the world with irrespective of Timezone.

2. Date/Timestamp doesn't know about the given time is on which timezone.

3. If we want the time based on timezone we should go for the Calendar or SimpleDateFormat classes in java.

4. If you try to print a Date/Timestamp object using toString(), it will convert and print the time with the default timezone of your machine.

5. So we can say (Date/Timestamp).getTime() object will always have UTC (time in milliseconds)

6. To conclude Date.getTime() will give UTC time, but toString() is on locale specific timezone, not UTC.

Now how will I create/change time on specified timezone?

The below code gives you a date (time in milliseconds) with specified timezones. The only problem here is you have to give date in string format.

I would use Box-Muller. Two things about this:

1. You end up with two values per iteration
   Typically, you cache one value and return the other. On the next call for a sample, you return the cached value.
2. Box-Muller gives a Z-score
   You have to then scale the Z-score by the standard deviation and add the mean to get the full value in the normal distribution.

1. Create exception table with structure below: exceptions_table

2. Try create a unique constraint or primary key which will be violated by the duplicates. You will get an error message because you have duplicates. The exceptions table will contain the rowids for the duplicate rows.

Imagine the include as what it is: A copy & paste of the contents of the included PHP file which will then be interpreted. There is no scope change at all, so you can still access $someVar in the included file directly (even though you might consider a class based structure where you pass $someVar as a parameter or refer to a few global variables).

For Laravel 5.8, setting the csrf meta tag for your layout and setting the request header for csrf in ajax settings won't work if you are using ajax to submit a form that already includes a _token input field generated by the Laravel blade templating engine.

You must include the already generated csrf token from the form with your ajax request because the server would be expecting it and not the one in your meta tag.

For instance, this is how the _token input field generated by Blade looks like:

The csrf token in the meta header is only useful when you are submitting a form without a Blade generated _token input field.

this type of error usually occur when you try to access data through the index in which data data has not been assign. for example

You might find it very useful to sample Redis keys and group them by type. Salvatore has written a tool called redis-sampler that issues about 10000 RANDOMKEY commands followed by a TYPE on retrieved keys. In a matter of seconds, or minutes, you should get a fairly accurate view of the distribution of key types.

I've written an extension (unfortunately not anywhere open-source because it's work related), that adds a bit of introspection of key names via regexs that give you an idea of what kinds of application keys (according to whatever naming structure you're using), are stored in Redis. Combined with the more general output of redis-sampler, this should give you an extremely good idea of what's going on.

Assuming ASCII strings:

The method suggested by @roe and @MohitNanda work, but if the right div is set as float:right;, then it must come first in the HTML source. This breaks the left-to-right read order, which could be confusing if the page is displayed with styles turned off. If that's the case, it might be better to use a wrapper div and absolute positioning:

So I had this same problem with WSUS and it turned out that IIS 8.5 was not binding to my ipv4 ip address, but was binding to ipv6 address. when I accessed it via localhost:8580 it would translate it to the ipv6 localhost address, and thus would work. Accessing it via ip was a no go. I had to manually bind the address using netsh, then it worked right away. bloody annoying.

Steps:

1. Open command prompt as administrator
2. Type the following:

netsh http add iplisten ipaddress (IPADDRESSOFYOURSERVER)

that's it. You should get:

IP address successfully added

When adding datepicker at runtime generated input textboxes you have to check if it already contains datepicker then first remove class hasDatepicker then apply datePicker to it.

You can also set the tableview's bounces property to NO. This will keep the section headers non-floating/static, but then you also lose the bounce property of the tableview.

Actually using 100% will not make the image bigger if the image is smaller than the div size you specified. You need to set one of the dimensions, height or width in order to have all images fill the space. In my experience it's better to have the height set so each row is the same size, then all items wrap to next line properly. This will produce an output similar to fotolia.com (stock image website)

SQLite has limited ALTER TABLE support that you can use to add a column to the end of a table or to change the name of a table.

If you want to make more complex changes in the structure of a table, you will have to recreate the table. You can save existing data to a temporary table, drop the old table, create the new table, then copy the data back in from the temporary table.

For example, suppose you have a table named "t1" with columns names "a" and "c" and that you want to insert column "b" from this table. The following steps illustrate how this could be done:

request.getSession() will return a current session. if current session does not exist, then it will create a new one.

request.getSession(true) will return current session. If current session does not exist, then it will create a new session.

So basically there is not difference between both method.

request.getSession(false) will return current session if current session exists. If not, it will not create a new session.

The git cherry-pick <commit> command allows you to take a single commit (from whatever branch) and, essentially, rebase it in your working branch.

Using class members to give default values works very well just so long as you are careful only to do it with immutable values. If you try to do it with a list or a dict that would be pretty deadly. It also works where the instance attribute is a reference to a class just so long as the default value is None.

I've seen this technique used very successfully in repoze which is a framework that runs on top of Zope. The advantage here is not just that when your class is persisted to the database only the non-default attributes need to be saved, but also when you need to add a new field into the schema all the existing objects see the new field with its default value without any need to actually change the stored data.

I find it also works well in more general coding, but it's a style thing. Use whatever you are happiest with.

This is how I managed to sort and populate:

It also includes sqlcmd for Linux.

I would assume it's possible to place a proxy between the DB and your app then observe the communication. I'm not familiar with what software you would use to do this.

The better way is to include it in a rake task. Create import.rake file inside /lib/tasks/ and put this code to that file.

I was having the same problem when I received a html to put inside my project and rename it to .jsp. To solve the problem, I needed to what people above already said, that is, to change text encoding in Eclipse Preferences. However, before renaming the files to .jsp, it was necessary to include the following line in the beginning of each .html file:

Simple, correct, solution - define the background image and colour in html, not body. Unless you've defined a specific height (not a percentage) in the body, its height will be assumed to be as tall as required to hold all content. so your background styling should go into html, which is the entire html document, not just the body. Simples.

Might be a slightly different cause, but that second issue occurs for me in scala 2.9.0.1 on Win7 (x64), though scala-2.9.1.final has already resolved this issue mentioned here:

Absolute XPath: It is the direct way to find the element, but the disadvantage of the absolute XPath is that if there are any changes made in the path of the element then that XPath gets failed.

The key characteristic of XPath is that it begins with the single forward slash(/) ,which means you can select the element from the root node.

Below is the example of an absolute xpath.

Relative Xpath: Relative Xpath starts from the middle of HTML DOM structure. It starts with double forward slash (//). It can search elements anywhere on the webpage, means no need to write a long xpath and you can start from the middle of HTML DOM structure. Relative Xpath is always preferred as it is not a complete path from the root element.

Below is the example of a relative XPath.

I am assuming you are using Eclipse as your developing environment.

Eclipse Juno, Indigo and Kepler when using the bundled maven version(m2e), are not suppressing the message SLF4J: Failed to load class "org.slf4j.impl.StaticLoggerBinder". This behaviour is present from the m2e version 1.1.0.20120530-0009 and onwards.

Although, this is indicated as an error your logs will be saved normally. The highlighted error will still be present until there is a fix of this bug. More about this in the m2e support site.

The current available solution is to use an external maven version rather than the bundled version of Eclipse. You can find about this solution and more details regarding this bug in the question below which i believe describes the same problem you are facing.

It is not necessary to specify a transform or have crazy subdirectory paths. After much troubleshooting I isolated it to this "simple" rule (is it a bug?)...

If your bundle path does not start with relative root of the items being included, then the web application root will not be taken into account.

Sounds like more of a bug to me, but anyway that's how you fix it with the current .NET 4.51 version. Perhaps the other answers were necessary on older ASP.NET builds, can't say don't have time to retrospectively test all that.

To clarify, here is an example:

I have these files...

And get the "behaviour" (bug), the CSS files themselves have the application root (e.g. "http://localhost:1234/MySite/Content/Site.css") but the CSS image within all start "/Content/Images/..." or "/Images/..." depending on whether I add the transform or not.

Even tried creating the "Bundles" folder to see if it was to do with the path existing or not, but that didn't change anything. The solution to the problem is really the requirement that the name of the bundle must start with the path root.

Meaning this example is fixed by registering and rendering the bundle path like..

So of course you could say this is RTFM, but I am quite sure me and others picked-up this "~/Bundles/..." path from the default template or somewhere in documentation at MSDN or ASP.NET web site, or just stumbled upon it because actually it's a quite logical name for a virtual path and makes sense to choose such virtual paths which do not conflict with real directories.

Anyway, that's the way it is. Microsoft see no bug. I don't agree with this, either it should work as expected or some exception should be thrown, or an additional override to adding the bundle path which opts to include the application root or not. I can't imagine why anyone would not want the application root included when there was one (normally unless you installed your web site with a DNS alias/default web site root). So actually that should be the default anyway.

• Sheets can be deleted, copied and moved with surprising results.
• You can't call code in sheet "code-behind" from other modules without fully qualifying the reference. This will lead to coupling of the sheet and the code in other modules/sheets.
• Modules can be exported and imported into other workbooks, and put under version control
• Code in split logically into modules (data access, utilities, spreadsheet formatting etc.) can be reused as units, and are easier to manage if your macros get large.

Since the tooling is so poor in primitive systems such as Excel VBA, best practices, obsessive code hygiene and religious following of conventions are important, especially if you're trying to do anything remotely complex with it.

This article explains the intended usages of different types of code containers. It doesn't qualify why these distinctions should be made, but I believe most developers trying to develop serious applications on the Excel platform follow them.

There's also a list of VBA coding conventions I've found helpful, although they're not directly related to Excel VBA. Please ignore the crazy naming conventions they have on that site, it's all crazy hungarian.

I was trying to run pg_dump from within psql command prompt and I was not able to trace output file anywhere on my ubuntu 20.04 box. I tried finding by find / -name "myfilename.sql".

Instead When I tried pg_dump from /home/ubuntu, I found my output file in /home/ubuntu

Congratulations, you've hit my favorite pet peeve with JDBC: Date class handling.

Basically databases usually support at least three forms of datetime fields which are date, time and timestamp. Each of these have a corresponding class in JDBC and each of them extend java.util.Date. Quick semantics of each of these three are the following:

• java.sql.Date corresponds to SQL DATE which means it stores years, months and days while hour, minute, second and millisecond are ignored. Additionally sql.Date isn't tied to timezones.
• java.sql.Time corresponds to SQL TIME and as should be obvious, only contains information about hour, minutes, seconds and milliseconds.
• java.sql.Timestamp corresponds to SQL TIMESTAMP which is exact date to the nanosecond (note that util.Date only supports milliseconds!) with customizable precision.

One of the most common bugs when using JDBC drivers in relation to these three types is that the types are handled incorrectly. This means that sql.Date is timezone specific, sql.Time contains current year, month and day et cetera et cetera.

Finally: Which one to use?

Depends on the SQL type of the field, really. PreparedStatement has setters for all three values, #setDate() being the one for sql.Date, #setTime() for sql.Time and #setTimestamp() for sql.Timestamp.

Do note that if you use ps.setObject(fieldIndex, utilDateObject); you can actually give a normal util.Date to most JDBC drivers which will happily devour it as if it was of the correct type but when you request the data afterwards, you may notice that you're actually missing stuff.

I'm really saying that none of the Dates should be used at all.

What I am saying that save the milliseconds/nanoseconds as plain longs and convert them to whatever objects you are using (obligatory joda-time plug). One hacky way which can be done is to store the date component as one long and time component as another, for example right now would be 20100221 and 154536123. These magic numbers can be used in SQL queries and will be portable from database to another and will let you avoid this part of JDBC/Java Date API:s entirely.

When you pass the the System.Drawing.Image type object to a method you are actually passing a copy of reference to that object.

So if inside that method you are loading a new image you are loading using new/copied reference. You are not making change in original.

The generic approaches are all technically valid, but I just wanted to add a note from myself since we rarely actually need a real deep copy, and I would strongly oppose using generic deep copying in actual business applications since that makes it so you might have many places where the objects are copied and then modified explicitly, its easy to get lost.

In most real-life situations also you want to have as much granular control over the copying process as possible since you are not only coupled to the data access framework but also in practice the copied business objects should rarely be 100% the same. Think an example referenceId's used by the ORM to identify object references, a full deep copy will also copy this id's so while in-memory the objects will be different, as soon as you submit it to the datastore, it will complain, so you will have to modify this properties manually after copying anyway and if the object changes you need to adjust it in all of the places which use the generic deep copying.

Expanding on @cregox answer with ICloneable, what actually is a deep copy? Its just a newly allocated object on the heap that is identical to the original object but occupies a different memory space, as such rather than using a generic cloner functionality why not just create a new object?

I personally use the idea of static factory methods on my domain objects.

If someone is looking how he can structure object instantiation while retaining full control over the copying process that's a solution that I have been personally very successful with. The protected constructors also make it so, other developers are forced to use the factory methods which gives a neat single point of object instantiation encapsulating the construction logic inside of the object. You can also overload the method and have several clone logic's for different places if necessary.

If your server is not resolving the file from the parent directory using

Which means that it applies the successives filter() on the target model directly, not on previous filter()

If I take the example from the docs :

Blog.objects.filter(entry__headline__contains='Lennon').filter(entry__pub_date__year=2008)

remember that it's the model Blog that is filtered, not the Entry. So it will treat the 2 filter() independently.

It will, for instance, return a queryset with Blogs, that have entries that contain 'Lennon' (even if they are not from 2008) and entries that are from 2008 (even if their headline does not contain 'Lennon')

With context, you can pass data through the component tree without having to pass the props down manually at every level. There is a big warning on this being an experimental feature and may break in the future, but I would imagine this feature to be around given the majority of the popular frameworks like Redux use context extensively.

The main advantage of using context v.s. a global variable is context is "scoped" to a subtree (this means you can define different scopes for different subtrees).

Do note that you should not pass your model data via context, as changes in context will not trigger React's component render cycle. However, I do find it useful in some use case, especially when implementing your own custom framework or workflow.

Some facts:

1. super() is used to call the immediate parent.
2. super() can be used with instance members, i.e., instance variables and instance methods.
3. super() can be used within a constructor to call the constructor of the parent class.
